F.L. Terrill Home
The home of Felix L. and Ann V. Terrill in 1908. The house was located on the west side of Texas Ave. almost directly across from the present City Hall. The home was shown on the Sanborn Insurance map of 1900 and was immediately south of the Bragg Hotel which is believed to have burned about this time. Notice the unique ornamentation around both the base and overhang of the front porch as well as the almost fence like decoration along the roof line. The Terrill family was among earliest families to settle in the newly established town of De Leon, arriving in 1882. He operated a dry goods store about where Cooke Insurance is today.
